REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Supply, installation and operation and maintenance training of solar panels for five boreholes in Mudag Region
Background and objective:
As part of the resilience building initiative, the SRCS with funding from the Iranian Red Crescent through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is implementing food security and livelihoods project in Mudug Region in Puntland, Somalia. SRCS aims to install solar power to five community which is the best, reliable, available and cost-effective method and produce the maximum water yield with minimum cost. The solar panels will replace the generators currently used by the community boreholes that are very expensive to regularly maintain and uses unaffordable fuel by the communities. This solar panels installation will be benefit five communities which are: Semada Community, Saho Community, Lanmadow community, Kuweyt Community and Darasalam Community. 95% of the communities living in these areas are pastoralist communities needing affordable, available and low-price water for themselves and for the livestock. These boreholes are in remote areas where there are few other boreholes and serves huge population from pastoralist communities.
On the backdrop of above, SRCS invites bids from the registered suppliers for Supply, installation and operation and maintenance training of solar panels for five boreholes
Qualified suppliers are invited to obtain bid documents from SRCS Galkayo Branch Office Puntland Somalia, from 7.00am to 2.00pm beginning 17 September 2018. The SRCS shall not take any responsibility for any expense incurred to bidders in connection with the bid preparation. Bidders are responsible for the submission of their bids on time and accordance with the instructions provided in the RFP.
